Our Space

826 Pennsylvania Street is a 100+-year-old stand-alone building in the historic Warehouse Arts District of East Lawrence, KS. While we have added some new features, we have kept it as original as possible and feature a lot of the original exposed brick, concrete, and steel. Our main floor is split between the restaurant and taproom, kitchen, and brewery production area, which is visible behind large glass windows. We provide several large community-style tables, booth seating, and smaller table options suitable for most experiences.

We are also lucky to have a large covered wrap-around deck for outside seating, as well as a lower, hardscaped area off the deck full of picnic tables for a more casual, backyard-style vibe.

We are walkable to downtown, the Lawrence Loop bike and walking trails, Hobbs Park, and all the other wonderful businesses in our neighborhood.

Reservations

We are happy to take a limited number of reservations each day. Please give us a call during business hours and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs. We do not move tables or take patio reservations (see below for reasoning). (785) 856-0453. You can also book reservations online HERE.

Beer to Go

We offer 32oz Crowlers as our to go beer option. These are 32oz aluminum cans filled to order from the taps like a classic growler. We then place them in a seamer machine that seals them up with a lid exactly like a normal can of beer. Crowlers are more environmentally friendly than glass growlers (recyclable, less impact in their creation and freight, etc), more suitable for lake, trail, park, and hiking adventures, and ensure a clean container for all that wonderful fresh beer. Plus, you can get a couple different beers instead of committing to a full 64oz of a single beer.

We will NOT sell or fill any glass growlers.

Private Space

We currently offer a private tasting room that is perfect for meetings and small group events. This space includes an 18' x 4' boardroom-style table, A/V and presentation capabilities, and large windows with views to the outside and the brewery production area.

Up to 22 guests can sit around the large table all at once, and we have additional bar seating along the counter in the room for up to 28 total guests all seated in the room at once. Additional guests can be accomodated in more of a casual, happy hour style gathering upwards of 30-50 guests. The private tasting room has a $100 room rental fee on Fridays and Saturdays and normal food and drink menus are available.

If you are interested in booking an event or more information, please reach out to info@lawrencebeerco.com.

Parking

We are fortunate to have a bevy of parking options around our brewery, including Pennsylvania Street in front, Delaware Street in back, public lot directly behind our building, and on one side of both 8th and 9th streets. If you choose to park on another surrounding residential street, please be respectful of our wonderful neighbors.

Smoking

We are very proud to offer a NO SMOKING environment for our patrons. This includes the interior, patio, and grassy backyard area. We provide cigarette receptacles at the east side of the building and patio and ask that you use these designated areas. Failure to comply with the smoking rules may result in refusal of service and being asked to leave the premise.

Dogs

We love dogs. Who doesn't? We love when you walk them by the brewery and when you bring them with you to hang out. We are a full restaurant, however. So, we ask that when they are with you they stay on the lower picnic table area just off our deck. You can still enjoy our food and drink from there. Health code regulations do not allow them on the upper covered patio area or inside the restaurant.

We also ask that you keep all dogs (no matter how chill they are) leashed and controlled at all times.

Also, this should go without saying, but don't be the person who doesn't clean up after your dog. Nobody likes that person.

Failure to be a responsible dog owner and follow these simple rules may result in refusal of service and being asked to leave the premise.

Kids

We are a family company here at LBC, all owners have young children and have raised them around the brewery since the construction days before we opened. We love seeing families enjoy our space every day. We do expect kids (and parents) to be respectful of our space, however, and any families with unattended children or those causing a disruption or being unsafe may also be asked to leave.

Donations

Supporting the community around us has always been one of our main goals and we are happy to hear how we may be able to help.  Please fill out the donation form in the about section of our website at least 14 days prior to your event.

Please do not move tables

Why can’t we move tables together? We have a few reasons…

1) our tables inside are made from 120 year old wooden beams we repurposed from our building during construction. They are incredibly heavy, and also easily breakable if not picked up correctly. Once broken, they cannot be replaced. With their weight, they are also dangerous for our staff and/or guests to attempt to move.

2) Moving tables or chairs for your group may impede on the safety or comfortability of other guests. We have plenty of large tables and you are welcome to talk with staff about taking over multiple tables, but your desire to move chairs or tables together does not supersede other guest’s desire to dine socially distanced and safely.

3) Seating and tables are valuable spaces. Taking a chair or two from another table limits our ability to seat that table and hurts our business.

4) Even if it’s not seemingly busy, guidelines only work if they are followed at all times. It’s not up to us to decide when rules apply and when they don’t at our discretion, and everyone at LBC is treated equally. Plus, even if it’s not busy at the moment it most likely will get busy shortly or was busy before you arrived.

If your group is larger than the table you would like to sit at, we have multiple large picnic and patio tables you are welcome to wait for, plus multiple tables inside that seat 10-15 guests comfortably and can combine tables ahead of time for larger reservations. We also have a private tasting room that seats 22 and is free to use during the week. If you know you are going to have a large group we recommend calling ahead to game plan what might work best for your gathering. Otherwise, you are welcome to sit at multiple tables, just not move them together.

Menus

In lieu of single use paper menus we utilize online menus that are accessible via QR codes on our tables or by visiting lawrencebeerco.com/menus. It may seem inconvenient (even though most guests have their phones with them), but it drastically eliminates a large amount of waste, helps limit the spread of germs, and are much easier to utilize on windy patio days. Our staff are more than happy to assist with any questions or QR code issues or provide a paper menu if necessary.

All rules apply both inside the restaurant and outside on the patio.

Thank You

We appreciate the overwhelming community support, but failure to comply with safety rules or disrespecting our staff will result in refusal of service. We empower and value our staff as the wonderful and talented humans they are and consult them before any decisions regarding safety or operations are put into place. We provide a supportive, collaborative work environment that is evidenced by our low turnover and high application rate. While they play an integral part in our operations here at LBC please remember to reach out directly to info@lawrencebeerco.com with any issues and not take it out on staff who are just doing their job and are emotionally exhausted from the past two years.
